Creating a new NHS England: Health Education England, NHS Digital and NHS England have merged. Learn more.
This resource provides case studies where digital tools have been used by NHS organisations to increase workforce productivity. We include examples such as reducing administrative burden, freeing up time for patient care, making better use of existing tools and systems, recruitment, training, staff wellbeing and digital culture. We welcome feedback on the playbooks, including ideas for further case studies. To get in touch, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust uses mobile EPR app to reduce administrative burden, increase efficiency and improve wellbeing
Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) has introduced a mobile app for its EPR software that enables nursing staff to access and update patient records at the point of care without connectivity.
These case studies summarise user and patient experiences, focussing on:
- digital solutions along different care pathways
- productivity improving digital solutions
- how to open source code for health and care organisations
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the apps and digital tools referenced are not supplied, distributed or endorsed by NHS England or the Department of Health and Social Care and such parties are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from their use.
All playbook case studies have either passed, or are currently undergoing the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) assessment.
