NHSX played a key role in setting up the NHS COVID-19 Data Store which continues to support better understanding of the virus and the pressures it is placing on the system as well as the roll out of new analytical tools that are supporting local teams to make best use of their resources.

As the health and social care system continues to face significant pressures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NHSX and NHS Digital have taken the decision to extend the compliance deadline for the national data opt-out to 31 March 2022.
In addition, we've produced specific information governance (IG) guidance for COVID-19, including an example supplementary privacy notice to cover the COVID-19 emergency period. You can find this and other guidance relating to IG on our IG pages.
