Andrew Hughes - Local Government Association’s Director of Health and Wellbeing Systems Improvement

Andrew Hughes is the Local Government Association’s Director of Health and Wellbeing Systems Improvement and has over 25 years’ experience of working in local government. From an early career in town planning he has held a number of senior local authority positions in housing, finance and corporate services before moving to the Audit Commission. On joining the LGA he initially managed improvement support for children’s services and more recently adult services. Andrew was Chairman of a housing association’s extra care housing functions and charitable support services. He is also now a non-executive director of a social care company providing residential care for the elderly and those with dementia, day care opportunities for those with learning disabilities and complex reablement services.
